First Nordic Conference on Service Design and Service Innovation

The Norwegian Design Council and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design are launching the first Nordic Conference on Service Design and Service Innovation, November 24th – 26th 2009. They’re looking for a range of submissions:

  • boundaries, foundation and constituent parts of the emerging discipline of service design
  • history and trajectories of service design
  • inclusive-design approaches to services for all
  • critical views
  • methods, tools and processes
  • case studies
  • relation to design thinking, design leadership and design management
  • education and research perspectives

I’m actually a little disappointed. I’d like to see more US participation in international service design conferences, but this is the 2nd conference in a row to be scheduled in conflict with the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States, which almost guarantees a poor showing from this side of the Atlantic. For us, it’s like scheduling the conference against Christmas.
